The Great Adventure begins

Well, the last few weeks were filled with parties and time well-spent with family and friends before we headed out for our "great adventure" called Retirement.  What a huge step but, without exception, each retired person we spoke to readily provided words of encouragement and told us "You will LOVE it!"  That helped me so much and I really appreciated their advice.

So many things to think about, figure out how to do and remember to do before we leave (such as: seasonal disconnect for the cable but keep the roadrunner email addresses; porting the home phone number to Joe's cell phone; stop the mail?have someone pick up and send it to us?get a PO Box and forward the mail?; how do you even pack for 3 months away when the airlines charge so much for baggage?).  Somehow, while I was busily working out these issues, I found I couldn't keep the smile off my face and it all worked out great in the end -- except the phone porting which I work on each day (darn phone companies -- haha).

Well, I don't think a blog is meant to be a novel each time, so I'll close this entry by attaching some pictures.
