Last night, we went over to the condo of the couple we meet to watch the Chiefs' games. We were sitting on their patio, watching the sunset and drinking wine -- having a nice, relaxing time. Suddenly we felt the earth start to shake ... there was an earthquake! It was a 4.7 magnitude and the epicenter was about 5 miles from where we were sitting. It definitely surprised everyone but fortunately there were no injuries -- so we just thought it was really cool. The news said it was felt clear over in Honolulu (about 100 miles).
Today we were having a pretty quiet day; really nothing planned. Joe was watching the Maui Invitational on ESPN so we just decided to see if we could get last minute tickets -- and we did! We ended up seeing Wichita State play Virginia -- and we had seats right behind the goal next to the Wichita bench. We were on ESPN off-and-on during the whole game -- John and my mom both texted us to tell us they were watching us. Hilarious! Wichita State won the game 70-58 (Go Shockers!) and it was fun to see a midwest team play.
Last minute tickets to a sold out tournament Sweet! |

You should have seen everyone making the Shocker sign but I convinced Joe to make the Hawaii Shaka sign instead |
Right outside the arena, they had several tents set up with food, a beer garden and live music so we thought we'd hang out for a little while. Really fun!
We had a beautiful rainbow outside the arena but never did see any rain |
Funny how "do-nothing" days can end up being so fun :)
