Goodbye Grandview

After a couple of crazy, exhausting weeks of packing -- and we could not have done it without all the help from our kids (and Joe's sister Lou) -- moving day finally arrived.

We hired a moving company called Moovers and the boxes were all covered with black-and-white spots like a cow -- so I shouldn't have been surprised when a huge black-and-white spotted moving truck showed up.  How hilariously midwest!

I was happy to see the "moovers" did NOT
arrive in black-and-white spotted clothes

It was a hot and sunny day and the great movers got all that heavy furniture loaded and stored safely away in a storage unit.  Okay, no lying -- we have THREE large storage units.  Totally crazy and we are dedicated to downsizing to a manageable amount of "stuff" in our new home.

I grew pretty nostalgic as I took a last few pictures of our home of the last 12-1/2 years.

It took a lot of friends and family to
build Joe's garage

Some pretty great parties were held
around this pool

... longest drive contests from the front lawn

... and some pretty outstanding hoops
