Trevor and his new Guitar Shirt -- he can really play it! |
We had an exciting "Gator Hunt" planned for his birthday. We went to DeLeon Springs for a private airboat tour and gator hunt. Wow -- did we get lucky! The weather was absolutely perfect, and we saw tons of gators and more!
Trevor calls dibs on the "co-pilot" chair |
The co-pilot has a working microphone and Trevor was excited to hear his own voice (yay for the rest of us) |
Right off the bat, we saw a huge manatee feeding...
Captain Josh said she weighed about 400 lbs |
Then so many alligators...
We saw some baby bald eagles...
Eagle nest with two babies |
A seaplane landed on the river...
When we saw this plane circling, we turned around and roared back full speed in time to see it land |
Then some BIG gators...
This big guy's name is Tripod because he lost a leg in a fight |
As a special treat for Trevor's birthday, Captain Josh reached into the swamp and picked up a tiny baby alligator and let him touch him (but we couldn't take any pictures).
We had a great time and Trevor loved it! |
Then we went out to eat at Down Under and had seafood -- no alligator but fish, shrimp, conch fritters and fried pickles. Then home for ice cream cake, which Trevor had picked out earlier in the week and Mom snuck back to buy for him.
Oops, forgot the candles but this worked |
We all had a really good day and were so glad Trevor was here for his birthday!
